About This Report
All statistics are computed from the CMS Home Health Compare dataset released in January 2026. Star ratings are calculated by CMS using a weighted combination of quality of care measures, patient experience surveys (HHCAHPS), and outcome measures. Quality measures reflect patient outcomes tracked through the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS).

Methodology
This report analyzes data from all 1,116 Medicare-certified home health agencies currently operating in Florida. The data comes directly from the CMS Home Health Compare dataset, January 2026 release.
How Star Ratings Are Calculated
CMS assigns quality of patient care star ratings on a 1-5 scale based on nine quality measures including timely initiation of care, improvement in ambulation, improvement in bed transferring, improvement in bathing, improvement in shortness of breath, improvement in management of oral medications, acute care hospitalization, emergency department use, and discharge to community.
Data Limitations
Not all agencies have star ratings. Newer agencies, agencies with insufficient patient volume, or those that have recently changed ownership may lack ratings. Of the 1,116 agencies in our dataset, approximately 66% have CMS star ratings. Unrated agencies are excluded from star rating analyses but included in service and geographic counts.
